About

Hello everyone and welcome to my website! My name is Sierra George, and I’ve been working in the museum field for just over two years. I’ve acquired a B.B.A. in International Business with a Certification in Global Competency at the University of Central Oklahoma. Just recently, I passed my placement test for entrance into Harvard Extension School for a Certificate in Museum Studies.

I chose International Business at the start of my university education and never changed it. I have always been very decided when it comes to my career choices and I am a true believer in enhancing my knowledge of the world we live in. Some people ask why I decided to get an undergraduate degree in International Business and how it applies to museum work. I have a very simple answer: business can be applied to anything. What’s more international than museums? They’re all over the world, they have to make money and work on tight budgets. I’m really looking forward to continuing my education in the museum studies field and apply my experiences and knowledge into theoretical practice.

Traveling, learning about different cultures, and furthering my education of this world is truly a passion. I’ve always been fascinated with the collective manifestations of human achievements and the stories that follow. The purpose of Globally Elegant, through my writings and galleries, is to purely inform readers of my experiences.

Currently, I work at the Oklahoma Museum of History as an Assistant Curator of Collections. As a state employee, one must wear many top hats. Therefore, I’ve found myself learning all of the different facets of museum work whether it be curatorial, preparator, administrative, archival, etc.! I want to be able to offer a fun and sophisticated insight into museum life and hope you enjoy my website.

Sincerely,

Sierra G.
